Area Towns - WarrenWarren begins where the waters at the northern shore of Lake Waramaug stop. Spread over 28 square miles, Warren is another rural community evoking the small town pride of New England. The natural beauty of the area arises from several farms, the Wyantenock State Forest and quite a few ponds -- Gritman, Eel Straits and Bates ponds -- as well as Lake Waramaug and the Shepaug and Upper Shepaug Reservoirs. With a population of 1,238, Warren operates under a Board of Selectmen/Board of Finance form of government. Warren is a member of Regional School District #6 (along with Goshen and Morris). Warren students attend the Warren Elementary School (grades K-6) before moving onto Wamogo Regional High School in Litchfield.
